Vision is something the bible talks about frequently. In the Old testament Solomon encouraged God’s people to set their ‘heart and soul to seek the Lord your God’. Proverbs tells us that for the lack of vision people perish. We are told to ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God’.
These are all quite broad statements; however I believe that God also calls us to seek Him for his vision both individually and as a local church here at Christies Beach.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that the leadership were seeking God for direction for the next five years. Already in our prayer and conversation we sense God is talking to us in areas such as training and equipping new leaders, missions, table ministry, and increasing community engagement, and our sensitivity and reliance on the Holy Spirit. However, over the next few days the Oversight team has set aside some time to specifically seek God together for further revelation which we hope to be able to bring to you at the AGM in November. Please pray for us as we seek God but also feed-back anything you are sensing God is saying – we really need to get this right as it is likely as well as framing our direction for the next season, every decision we then make moving forward will be filtered through what we believe God has said to us.
