This year we’ll be raising money for the FEC (Family Enrichment Centre) to continue emergency relief for people in our community.
For the past fifty years Christies Beach Baptist Church has collaborated with local churches and the local Council to provide emergency relief for the most vulnerable in our local community.
Utilising a network of dedicated wonderful volunteers and supported by federal funding this vital work has grown from strength to strength assisting those who otherwise might fall through the gap of other support networks.
Our assistance includes, food parcels, Christmas Hampers, PBS pharmacy medication assistance, Fuel vouchers, referrals to other Agencies, and limited help with bills.
Unfortunately, from 31st December 2019 our federal grant ceases and we either need to end providing emergency relief or find a way of raising the $13,500 we currently receive in grants.
As the need has not gone away, we have decided to try and raise the funds we are losing by other means including our quiz night to be held on 30/08/2019.
